A great web design will make a website stand out among the rest. It can influence the viewers by attracting them first. And to do that a great design is necessary. Readability, use of colours, animation etc contribute to the overall look of a site. A well designed website is the most effective marketing and advertising tool for a company. The website should offer people a pleasant, satisfying, informative, and engaging experience with easy navigation and user friendly directions. The business is suddenly brighter on the web and millions of people are now doing business over the net for its obvious advantages. It is therefore, imperative for every business that wants to flourish and get known, to have a well designed website for its customers and potential audience. Companies are investing more on website designing because they understand the competition and the need and requirement to survive in e-business. A website is the first tool of marketing on the internet. If a portal can convince a person, it can win over many more. The design needs to be updated from time to time to avoid monotonousness. A very good example is Google. Every now and then the design of the search engine along with its logo keeps changing, keeping in trend with recent happenings and festivities. The technology behind web designing is also changing. Designers and the technical team need to be at par with such technical improvisations. With the evolution and acceptance of Adobe products like Flash, and Photoshop, web designing saw rapid developments. Designers achieved more freedom to experiment with templates and layouts with other evolving technologies like Cascading Stylesheets (CSS) 3.
