| Is it really possible to craft a creative Dragonball Z episode guide? This may seem like an odd question because you really do not have to add much to an episode guide in order to make it worth reading. Or do you? It is possible to craft a skeleton style episode guide but that would be kind of boring. What is meant by a skeleton guide, the Dragonball Z episode guide would list little more than just the name of the episodes in their order of air date or DVD release. You might get a one or two sentence synopsis or you might not. While such a listing does have decent reference benefits to it, no one could serious say that such an episode guide is even remotely entertaining to read because it certainly isn’t. Seriously, what would be the difference between reading the ingredient list on a cereal box vs. reading what you would see on such a skeletal episode guide? Not very much! As such, it would definitely not be all that interesting or enjoyable to read such an episode guide. And honestly, it is doubtful the writer would get much of a benefit crafting a guide like this either. Dullness is never an admirable trait and even those crafting reference oriented subject matter such as a Dragonball Z episode guide need to realize this. As such, it becomes important to add a few elements to the episode guide to truly liven it up. The first element would be a decent summary of the episode. This does not mean the summary needs a complete breakdown of the entire episode. Granted, some summaries will literally break down every aspect of the episode up to the halfway point of it as a means of creating a cliffhanger. Others will even summarize everything except the ending. Is this necessary? Well, it is not necessarily bad if it delivers entertaining reading but most people looking over an episode guide will just want a one paragraph summary of the main points. This way, they can ID the episode and what it is about and whether or not it appeals to them. A little bit of trivia about the episode should be included as little touches such as this really do contribute to the value of an episode guide. Are there pop culture references in the episode? Does the episode in question build upon any previous seasons in the series? If there is some unique trivia to mention about the episode, the info’s presence in the episode guide will certainly be of value and makes the episode guide worth reading. A parting word on how good or bad the episode might be valuable. On the surface, reviews seem to have no place on an episode guide. However, there really is no harm in their inclusion since they do have much value to the reader. The truth is that anything interesting or entertaining to read will be of value to the person perusing the episode guide. Does this seem like there is a lot needed for a Dragonball Z episode guide to be entertaining? An episode guide does not need all of these elements per se but their inclusion certainly has value. |
